Book Study: Harry Potter and the Clash of Gods

can you imagine these kids worship Satan?

I can’t. I just finished the book, I thought I’d take this as a study of the book. Here we go:

No character in the book has ever mention any preferrence of any religion. There is no single writing in which Harry Potter or any other character ever pray. Not even in time of peril, which happen quite often. No character in the book put any God’s name in vain. When they swear, they use Merlin name or simply use ‘bloody-’ , a very common english light profanity word or J.K Rowling would just neatly written ‘the character is swearing.’ It is after all, a children book.

To make speculation that Harry Potter is a christian, or any other religion is simply baseless. To accuse the book promotes witchcraftry, devil worship, and any other stupid notion of paganism is nonsensical at best.  However, I can also pointed out that:

Internet debate? NO! and Twitter is the worst!

I feel the need to write about this seeing how my fellow indonesian netizens have grown to such large numbers thanks to social networking media. It is regarding one of many popular internet aspect: debate, or like those pseudo-intelligent people said: discussion

Whatever word you’re using to name that action you’re doing on internet when you argue about things with people you may or may not know in real life, it is actually a debate. A very disadvantage heated debate that often leads to insult war, whether direct or inderect and it will always leads to both parties feeling bad and angry and some other negative shit you could feel when somebody pissed you off.

Like many before me and like many online articles before this (well, this is not an article and I haven’t do any research, but meh), I have to say: Stop debating on internet. Especially when you’re doing it on friendster, myspace, facebook, and worst of all: Twitter!
