PGHT Storytelling Game
Last year I made an RPG campaign with Pirate Ghost Hidden Treasure storyline for setting. I created a loose system for the campaign and it was actually more of a storytelling game or collaborative writing. We never finished the campaign, due to some people gotten too bust with exam and stuff, but at least the campaign and the system i made was somewhat working.
Truth be told, it was a little bit difficult for DM or the Storyteller to manage since the system was hugely dependant on DM to do almost everything, and mostly done in spontaneus attide. This cause the game to become unbalanced since I tend to favor players with better writing skills, thus rewarding them better skills. The battle which occur also a little bit broken. I’m not sure who was at fault at that moment. Was it me, as the DM, who didn’t realise that those players were newbies, or was it them who kept refusing to fight, which of course caused them total annihilation. Anyway, the fact that the system itself is unfinished that probably caused them to stop playing.
Now, aside of working on some other projects, I’m adding this to my To Do list. I’m going to revamp the whole system and create a new one which I hope:
- Easy to use, with super minimum calculation
- Fun to play
- More about actual storytelling than battle resolution
- Encourage players to write moreĀ by rewarding them
So.. wish me luck (by luck i mean i don’t get stuck into detail or making this too complicated than it should be)
