I was just playing around with this new fancy sketching program that has been getting a lot of praise from professionals and amateurs alike. The name is Autocad Sketchbook Pro 2010. This drawing was done in 1hr, spent most of the time sketching, then using photoshop for the final touch.

The sketchbook alone is a very powerful skecthing program. Easy to use, very short learning curve. I understood everything about this software in less than 15 minutes. The UI is amazing, very user friendly. In fact, you can just use your tablet without even touching keyboard nor mouse! (but I like my left hand to work too so I’m using my keyboard).

On to the brushes. There are many basic brush like pencil, pen, marker, etc, just like many other software out there. Except.. Sketchbook pencil brush, in particular, is the best. It really simulates how real life pencil work! The brushes in general are great, I haven’t got a chance to actually use all the brushes, but I did play around with it and it’s great.

This is probably the first sketching software that instantly got me the minutes I opened it. Bye-bye OpenCanvas.. I don’t need you anymore! :P

Basic Photoshop screentones for everyone!

Hey guys, I’ve just uploaded my digital screentones that i often use in my artworks. Interested?

pros: You can use traditional method when using this. It’s pretty big, 1024*1024 pixels to ensure it could cover the whole canvas.

cons: takes more time.

pros: It’s seamless! You can use it with stamp tool and brush it over your drawing. Very neat!

cons: It’s hard if you’re thinking of using two or more screentones on top of each others. It’s possible, though.
