It’s basically a localisation of “First!” that you often see on the 1st post of a forum post, blog, or even youtube video. Pertamax! looked like it borrowed its name from one of Pertamina’s gasoline product, but it’s not. It actually a wordplay ‘Pertama’ plus ‘X’ Pertama is indonesian word for first, and the X was added just to make it more badass or something. So yeah, there’s a Pertamaxxx, a more badass version of pertamax.
To use the meme is actually simple, whenever you see a post without a comment, just post Pertamax! and nothing else, you can’t be failed at this or the next reply would be the fail meme and it would basically turn the rest of the comments into shitstorm.
Anyway, some people would go as far as to create an image macro of it, with lots of variation, and some of them are quite funny.
